Zets, Solicitor Roberta Karnes, Clerk of Council LOCAL INCOME TAX BEING COLLECTED BY REGIONAL TAX COLLECTION AGENCY AS OF JANUARY 1, 2019 Local income tax collections for the Village of Greenfield are being handled in a different way this year. After years of collecting the 1.562% income tax locally, the village is now utilizing the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) to collect local income taxes. RITA, in conjunction with the Village of Greenfield, has sent a welcome letter to all local taxpayers outlining changes that will be made to tax payments and tax forms in 2019. According to City Manager Todd Wilkin, RITA will be responsible for the administration and collection of all income taxes and will serve as an agent of the Village of Greenfield in this capacity. Greenfield chose RITA for its ability to offer residents and businesses ePayment and eFiling capabilities to maximize the village’s tax collection efforts. After January 1, 2019 all Village of Greenfield tax payments and tax forms, for current and prior tax years, are to be sent to RITA, Wilkin said. “We encourage you to utilize RITA’s electronic filing and payment system as it is fast, secure, and simple to use.” The system has been available for use since February 4, 2019, Wilkin said. A completed Individual Municipal Income Tax Return (Form 37) and payment (if applicable) are due by April 15, 2019. RITA is a non-profit governmental agency and the largest municipal income tax collection agency in the State of Ohio. For more information about RITA, please visit ritaohio.com or call 800-860-7482.
